We took a wrong road and in the process found a shoe tree, have no idea what the significance is but it was interesting.
The next photo was taken south of Burns Oregon, on the way to French Glen, which is just a small community of about 10-15 homes in the middle of the high desert area south of Burns about 75 miles. About the only activity visible was a few small cattle operations and a fair amount of prairie grass hay making. Near French Glen we saw a few cows and a cowboy on horseback in the distance. When we zoomed in on them we realized they were just silhouette cutouts set on a plateau to give the impression of a cowboy at work.
We returned to Burns and on the outskirts saw a couple of horses soaking up some sun.
A bit farther north of Burns we noticed smoke in the sky. The closer we got, the more smoke there was. It appeared to be a brush fire.
I mentioned in an earlier post that there was a lot of haze everywhere we went. I mentioned this to a local and they said that it was because of all the fires in California over the last several months.
